Telling Google You Exist
Google Webmaster Tools has a set of features that can help you understand what Google is doing when it visits your site. Of primary importance here is to submit your XML Sitemap that was created by the Google XML Sitemaps plugin from Step 4 and Step 8.
By telling Google about your sitemap file, you will be encouraging them to come and index your site, which is the first step in getting listed in Google.
